What indoor plants do for you

You may not realise it, but your workplace could be working against you!
In the United States, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has conducted research into the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in offices.
VOCs are considered to be the main cause of headaches, exhaustion, dry eyes and respiratory problems.
Sick buildings mean sick workers
Carpets, upholstery, photocopier machines and cleaning products emit VOCS such as formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethylene. These common but dangerous office toxins become concentrated indoors. In fact, these days our energy-efficient, sealed office buildings are often TEN TIMES more polluted than the air outside!
NASA concluded that having indoor plants in offices substantially reduces the amount of VOCs that employees are exposed to every day in 'sick buildings'.
Good news for those who suffer from asthma and allergies, or always feel tired and listless at work.
Such a simple, win/win solution!
How do the plants work? Briefly....
- Plants filter interior airborne pollutants such as VOCs and dust;
- They release oxygen into the indoor atmosphere;
- They reduce humidity levels.
So bring healthy plants into your workplace, and everyone will simply FEEL BETTER, resulting in...
- Enhanced staff morale and productivity;
- Lower stress and absenteeism.
Great for you and your staff, great for your business, great for your customers too!
